Billy Coleman serves as the Executive Director for Today’s Youth Matter where he is the Chief Executive leading fund development and strategic planning to effectively engage collaborative partnerships to enhance the profile of TYM. He oversees all planning, operations, events, and the financial development of the organization. He represents and promotes TYM in the local community and develops working relationships with foundations, churches, and corporate entities.
Billy’s goal is to bring transforming organizational leadership and integrity to the mission priorities to shape the vision, values and culture of TYM.
Previously, Billy served Young Life for 14 years as Area Director and was later promoted to Metro Director, in charge of Monterey County. He also served as the California Director of Church Mobilization for the International Justice Mission(IJM), in Washington D.C.
Billy holds a B.S. in Social and Behavioral Science and an Executive MBA, both from California State University, Monterey Bay.
Billy and his wife Linda live in Livermore, CA and have two young adult sons.
Barry Tonge serves as the Director of Programs for TYM, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing all aspects of TYM’s programing. Barry oversees Camps, Thrive Youth Academy, Kid’s club and the Emerging Leaders Academy. He provides staff supervision and leadership for TYM’s volunteer recruiting, training and leadership development. Barry is passionate about the work we do that maximizes the quality of our impact and builds program capacity.
He received a B.S. in Recreation Administration from California State University, Long Beach. His career began as a youth pastor and nonprofit executive for a youth development organization followed by a season in software sales and financial consulting. Since 2008, Barry has been committed to creating new and organic programmatic growth strategies to improve the lives of at-risk youth.
Barry, and his wife Christy, live in Mountain View, CA with their college age daughter and high school age son.
Matt Benford serves as the Director of Operations for Today’s Youth Matter and handles day-to-day operations, human resources, financial and administrative duties for TYM. Additionally, he supports TYM’s information and technology systems, fund development and programming. Matt’s goal is to help create the structure for TYM’s programs and ministries to thrive. He seeks to help TYM expand by bringing business process to impact kingdom vision.
Previously, Matt served as a Program Administrator for the Making Waves Foundation in Richmond, CA. Before that he was a Student Ministries & Operations Pastor for 7 years.
Matt holds a B.A. in Pastoral Studies and Bible from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL and a M.B.A. in Non-Profit Administration and Management from Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota.
Matt and his wife, Angela, live in Antioch, CA, with their son.
Selina Breshers serves as the Program Coordinator for Today’s Youth Matter’s after-school program: THRIVE! Youth Academy where she assists in researching and developing engaging and educational STEM projects as well was participates in mentoring and tutoring.
Selina also serves Today’s Youth Matter as Executive Administrative Assistant. Selina engages in administrative work to support the Executive Team, project management and assist the Executive Director in using time and resources in the most efficient ways possible.
Selina is currently working on her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology degree at John F. Kennedy University, in Pleasant Hill, CA. Selina also holds a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Small Business Management from Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA.
Michelle serves as TYM’s THRIVE! Youth Academy Program Coordinator. She assists in delivering the curriculum and activities to our elementary and middle school aged children that make THRIVE! Youth Academy a success. Michelle works one on one with many of the students forging deep relationships with them while also connecting with the parents and guardians of our students.
Michelle has extensive experience in after-school program settings helping lead STEAM learning labs, develop and create lesson plans, and coordinate field trips to educational destinations around the Bay Area.
Michelle is married to her husband, Kevin and live in Emeryville, CA. She has a passion for helping students succeed and grow in all aspects of their lives.
