1. How do I sign up to be a volunteer, mentor or tutor?
If you are interested in volunteering for TYM, complete a volunteer application and return to TYM, 461 Valley Way, Milpitas, CA 95035. If you have any questions regarding becoming a volunteer, contact Tucker Farrar at tucker@tymkids.org or 916-452-6852.

2. Are there age requirements for volunteers?
We prefer our volunteers to be 16 years of age or older if working at TYM camp. For our backpacking program, we prefer our volunteers to be 21 years of age or older, but exceptions can be made.

3. Where is TYM camp located?
TYM operates a camp for kids 8–12 years old near Pescadero, CA. We offer several 5-day sessions during the summer months. Call for directions to camp. 408-719-9125, or email us at tymkids@aol.com.

4. What kind of training does TYM provide their volunteers?
We require all our volunteers attend a volunteer training that prepares them to handle potential difficult situations. For dates of our next volunteer training, please see our calendar. If you can not attend either trainings, please contact Tucker sactym@yahoo.com or 916-452-6852.

5. Will I have to pay anything?
We do not require a volunteer fee, however, we gladly accept donations to help cover costs of food, transportation, and general costs. To send a child to camp it costs $250 and to cover the expenses for volunteers it is roughly $100.

7. Do I have to have back packing experience to come on a backpacking trip?
TYM welcomes all volunteers with a passion for children and a passion for Jesus Christ. We do not require our volunteers to have prior backpacking experience.

8. What age group of kids does TYM serve?
TYM serves children ages 8-18 years. Our 8-12 year olds attend a 5-day camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Our teens participate in a 5-day backpacking trip, which take place in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. All camps and back packing trips are gender specific.
