Teen Outdoor Leadership Academy

The Teen Outdoor Leadership Academy (TOLA) trains teens in the leadership, camping and first-aid skills necessary to safely lead others in the backcountry. TOLA training will also include a major service project and spiritual development opportunities. Through an intensive one-year training academy, the teens will learn "hands on" and grow both spiritually and emotionally, as well as physically and mentally. TOLA will include:

• Once a month weekend camping overnighters into wilderness areas
• Once a month skills seminars
• One five day student led backpacking trip (summer 2008)
• One three day student lead backpacking trip (Fall 2008)
• One Service Project (completed over several days)
• A final written evaluation
• $500 Educational stipend for completing the year of Teen Outdoor Leadership Academy
