It All Starts with God

“Everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him.” Colossians 1:16

What an amazing time we had at our boys camp this summer! In two back-to-back weeks of fun and activities, we were able to intentionally engage with campers and leaders while providing an exciting environment for campers to let loose, have fun, and most importantly experience God. The turnout was awesome as we had over 50 campers and 45 leaders attend both camps. The boys camp was the beginning of our camp season and it got off to a great start. One camper was quoted as saying, “I can’t wait to come back next year!”

One of the ways we engaged with campers was through community-building, relational work, which included “Get Real” morning devotional sessions, evening club time, and cabin time that occurred daily. We utilized the Relational Wisdom 360 curriculum that teaches us how we relate to God, ourselves, and others. It was a transformational time for both our leaders and campers as we explored God’s plan for the relationships we have.

Our campers and counselors also expressed highlights of camp from our activities. We had fun tubing down the lazy river, having our first ever “TYM Water Olympics” and a super secret, Mission Impossible themed obstacle course that was designed to help pass along the pillars of manhood to our boys and explore their purpose in Christ. The campers had so much fun!

Finally, the team at Hartstone Bible Camp made our camp experience what it was. As a full service camp, this team of dedicated servants was up early and worked late ensuring we were well fed, our facilities were pristine, and that our overall experience was excellent. As their tagline goes, “Excellent food and Excellent service” and they did not disappoint!

We are praising God for such an incredible start to our summer camp season.

Our focus for those two weeks was to be able to communicate that the reason we were at camp all starts with God and that He has a plan for our lives. Through our boys camp we saw both leaders and campers take the next step in the understanding of who God is.  They were transformed and walked away with an experience that theywouldn’t soon forget.

Thank YOU so much for partnering with us on the journey as we continue on in the camp season. We continue to ask for your prayers not only for these young men, but for the young women who will be attending. Our girls camp planning is well underway and we’re praying that the experience would be just as incredible for them as it was for our boys.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
